I had a lot of fun creating these backgrounds. I had a few 5 gallon buckets of shells I'd collected after a big storm, and since I'm really not a Shell Collector, I thought why not scan them and do something with them before I give them away. Here's the results. I'm not 100% sure of the shell names in all cases, but I did look them up and try to be correct on them. This Tulip Shell Background is my personal work. It's a little different from the others, but not by a lot. You may use this Tulip Shell Background FREE on your site if you'll simply provide a link giving us credit for its creation to either Tarzanna Graphics or to our sponsor, TaylorShopping.com. (instructions below and on our main page)
You might find that you have more text color choices for this Olive Shells Background if you set the body of the page into a table. It will also make the page easier to read. The color used for the backgroud of this text is color #81705E.
I have set this into a DIV tag for a little bit of special effect using Microsoft Filters. You can find code for some of these nifty effects to use here
If you want itty bitty images on your background, close this window, and save the thumbnail image.
From a page that used to be on Ocean.com
"The Banded Tulip has a cream to tan body with distinctive
brown striped and bluish gray color splotches. The grow to 1.5-3 inches and live
up to 36 feet deep. They can be very aggressive and will eat other tulips of the
same or similar species.
The Banded Tulip's shell is very brittle and is rarely found in perfect condition once washed ashore."
I guess it was because it was right after a Tropical Storm that we were able to collect hundreds of Banded Tulip Shells ranging from 2-4 inches long, unbroken, shiny and in wonderful condition.
Send us the URL where you've used our Seashell Background and we will happily put a link to it here so that others can see your work. See this background being used at the Your Coastal Vacations web site
