©Tarzanna Graphics 1997-2006I photographed these Pronghorn deer near Rapid City, SD sometime in the summer of 2003. This pair was alone and the way they pranced through the field really impressed me. Many call them Pronghorn Antelope, when in reality they are deer. The photo I used to make this background is below. I've compressed and resized it for faster loading. However, it really did make one GORGEOUS print for my wall. Here's some wonderful info from http://www.friendsofsaguaro.org/pronghorn.html about Pronghorns: General Information: This interesting mammal spends most of its time on the prairie. Pronghorns are true American natives, found nowhere else in the world. They have roamed the plains and deserts of North America for at least the last million years in substantially the same form. One can truly call this animal unique: he is the lone member of his family, Antilocapra americana, which literally means the "American goat-antelope". The pronghorn is not actually a true antelope at all. You can find extremely detailed information on them and some great pictures, at the link above. Please keep in mind that this pronghorn background border is copyrighted. You may use it free on your site if you'll give us a return link (instructions below and on the front page of Tarzanna Graphics). Also, if you'll provide us with the information as to where you've used this pronghorn bordered background, we'll be happy to link to you.
